Representative Project Experience
Natural Gas Compression and Measurement Station
Wink provided engineering services for the modification of a natural gas compression and measurement station to expand capacity at the facility to 3BSCFD. This included 2BCFD of total compression and the associated infrastructure to move an additional 1BCFD through the plant. The station consisted of above and below ground gas piping and compression equipment, and instrumentation buildings. Wink's services included: permit identification; conceptual line sizing for major process piping; budgetary pricing for prime movers and compression equipment; development of PFD and electrical block diagrams; prepared overall schedule; developed conceptual +/- 50% TIC estimate.
Gas Plant Facility Studies
- Created a HYSIS model for Cyro Unit (Demethanizer)
- Determined the corrosion mechanisms associated with CO2 and water and verified whether eliminating water condensation would be effective in mitigating corrosion.
- Researched current dehydration technology to see what alternatives may exist.
- Developed a plan for evaluating the existing glycol dehydration unit. Evaluated condition of equipment, process technology, and furnace design to determine what it would take to bring the unit into operating condition with an emissions level that corresponds to current best technology.
New Flash Gas Compressor
Wink provided engineering and design for installation of a new flash gas compressor to capture venting gasses from an existing three-phase separator and eliminate flaring of these gasses. The new compressor provides recapture of the commodity for Owner. Wink performed mechanical / piping, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation engineering for this project.
New LACT and Vapor Recovery Units
Wink provided detailed engineering and construction documents for demolition of an out-of-service VRU and installation of a new VRU for three tanks at separation facility. An existing LACT was demolished, and a new LACT properly sized for current needs was engineered and designed. Wink provided mechanical / piping, civil, structural, and electrical design, as well as process engineering verification and support.
Project Engineering, Gas Processing Facility
- Process, mechanical, civil, instrument and electrical engineering for new natural gas engine drive firewater pump.
- Process and multi-discipline engineering for replacing two (2) glycol to lean oil exchangers, leaving the exchangers in service.
- Engineering and design for installation of a new (spare) in-line glycol pump.
- Replace twelve (12) Glycol Exchangers in the Glycol service. Piping modifications and design of new pipe supports.
- Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP) services for various plant modifications, including design and engineering of HAZOP items (piping; relief devices; updating P&IDs and isometrics).
- Flare Header Hydraulic Capacity and Flare Stack Evaluation Study.
- Process engineering to generate work scope and PSV packages for Propylene Release Minimization efforts.
Glycol Vent System Modifications
Wink provided front-end engineering and analysis; followed by detailed design in all disciplines for installation of a new 285sf surface area, stainless steel Chilled Glycol Condenser; and engineering support for replacement in-kind of the existing Glycol Recovery Skid Water Condenser.
Pipeline Instrumentation
Installation of flowmeters and emergency shutdown valves (ESD) at four (4) locations. Design instrumentation for linking the systems to existing Honeywell DCS and a new Bristol Babcock computer located in a new remote building in the field.
Pipeline Capacity Upgrade
Process engineering and design of upgrades to increase capacity of existing crude pipeline from 40,000BPD to 52,000BPD, with an option for 56,000BPD flow. Wink services included development of a PipePhase model and making recommendation for upgrades, including modification of inlet and outlet piping systems, pump upgrades, addition of a pump station (at 22 miles) and modification of an existing pump station by adding two (2) 1,250hp driven pumps. We also developed a +/- 25% cost estimate for the improvements. We then performed detailed design and developed construction packages for the improvements.
Hazardous Waste Tank
Engineering and design services for the installation of a new fiberglass, double-walled, 210-barrel hazardous waste tank at natural gas processing facility.
New Propane Flow Meter
Multi-discipline engineering and design (civil / structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation) for the installation of a new Coriolis Flow Meter and Booster Pump at gas processing plant.
DeEthanizer Advanced Process (AP) Controls
Wink provided process engineering to review operations, design and oversee implementation of Advanced Process Controls (APC) in the Distributed Control System (DPS) for the DeEthanizer Column. Wink services included design and implementation of the new advanced controls, and training and mentoring owner Operations personnel in the use of the new controls and methods.
Access Platforms / Ladders
Structural engineering and design for installation of structural steel platforms and ladders to access equipment for regular maintenance and operation at facilities.
