Design & Drafting
We provide design/drafting services utilizing AutoCAD and Microstation. We have extensive experience in the use of 3-D laser scanning in support of Engineering Design.
Wink utilizes laser scanning services to:- Determine “as-built” condition and location of the existing unit.
- Develop demolition drawings, if required.
- Assist in design of piping isometrics drawings.
- Determine piping tie-in locations.
- Provide a common point of existing data for each discipline.
Our use of laser scanning has proven to significantly reduce field time and improve safety performance. In addition, laser scanning provides more information in a shorter period of time than through traditional means. Data collected is easily shared among disciplines and provides a common basis for conceptual and detailed design.
The Wink process for ensuring quality control in laser scanning projects:- Wink survey team independently verifies existing plant grid monuments and ground control, where this data is provided by client. Or, we will establish a project-specific TBM and coordinate system.
- The laser scanning service provider then places survey and laser scan targets throughout the unit to establish data control (DC) for cross-checking between traditional surveying and laser scanning. Each target is surveyed and captured in the laser scan.
- Wink piping designers work alongside the laser scanning consultant to ensure each area is scanned and that areas of interest are documented in sufficient detail.
- Once the surveying and laser scanning field data gathering effort is complete and the laser scanned data is registered, Wink uses this information to begin conceptual layout, demolition, and detailed design.
- Throughout the life-cycle of a project, Wink conducts quality control P&ID and drafting checks for pipe stress analysis, dimensional checks, and clash/interference detection with existing scanned data.

Wink Construction LLC (WCLLC) was established in May 1998 to provide Designer-LED EPC services by subcontracting:- Engineering, architecture, surveying, project & construction management, procurement (engineered items) to Wink Companies
- Fabrication, installation, and construction to qualified, established construction subcontractors
Construction Management
Wink Companies provides on-site construction liaison and construction management services to clients in the industrial, commercial, and municipal sectors. These services range from full-time professional construction management resident at the project site from mobilization through start-up; to periodic inspections of the construction process. Our staff includes seasoned professional construction managers with extensive field experience and real-world knowledge of the construction industry.
