A. Wink Companies, LLC was founded in 1970 (as Wink, Incorporated) by Joseph C. Wink, Jr., P.E. and his wife Ann Smith Wink.

Beginning as a one-man consultancy, Wink Companies has grown into a regional engineering consulting firm with more than 560 employees in multiple office locations.

Two generations of the Wink family now own 100% of this closely-held company, which became a Limited Liability Company in 2006. All of the shareholders are working managers of Wink or its sister company, Universal Personnel, LLC.

The history of Wink Companies is rooted in the professional talent and entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, Joseph C. Wink, Jr., P.E. It is an extraordinary success story. Customer service is its business hallmark; Integrity is at its core.

Q. What type of industries does Wink serve?
A. We specialize in services to the chemical/petrochemicals, refining, offshore oil and gas industries, as well as utility, commercial, municipal and industrial.

Q. Are these positions direct or contract?
A. Most positions are direct (Regular Full Time) with a comprehensive benefits package. We also have positions that are Casual, Temporary or Part-Time.

Q. What type of retirement plan is offered by Wink?
A. Wink Companies LLC offers a 401(K) Profit Sharing and Trust. Each year Wink Companies, LLC will match a portion of your contributions. Under this program, the Company, at its option, plans to match 25% of each dollar you defer up to 8% of your salary. This matching is dependent on the Company’s year-end profit position. Our 401(k) plan is administered by Schwab Retirement Plan Services, which offers many advanced features including 10 different funds to choose from, Internet access, and more.

Q. What is the time frame for eligibility of insurances?
A. Life Insurance, Voluntary Group Life Insurance, Group Health Insurance and Group Dental Insurance have a minimum waiting period of thirty (30) days of active service to be eligible for enrollment. Coverage would begin on the first day of the month coincident with or following satisfaction of the waiting period.
